Strategic Projects
Keep up to date with projects which will impact on Freuchie
There are a number of projects which will be implemented over the next couple of years. The Community Council will keep you informed through these pages :
- Play Spaces Strategy - Fife Council currently manages 446 sites with play equipment. 82% of the play equipment will reach the end of its life in the next 10 years; 151 sites have 3 or fewer pieces of play equipment and are deemed to have very limited play value. The strategy proposes having a categorisation of play spaces which will include greenspace with play features and 3 types of larger play parks providing a wider range of equipment in accessible locations. A final decision on categories will be made in autumn 2023. Currently it is proposed that the 2 items of play equipment at Freuchie Mill are taken out and replaced by natural play features with the village play park in the centre of Freuchie being retained.
- Freuchie Mill Flood Mitigation - Design proposals for a £1million + project have been agreed and funding secured to deliver this much needed flood mitigation work (hover on Strategic Projects heading at the top of the page to be taken to a separate page)
- A92 Improvements - Transport Scotland and its trunk road contractor, Amey, have unveiled draft plans for a pedestrian crossing at the East End of Freuchie, a signal controlled junction at the A92 Kettlebridge crossroads and a cycle/pathway to the east of the A92 ( hover on Strategic Projects heading at the top of the page to be taken to a separate page)
