Is the cost of living crisis affecting you?

Fife Council's Cost of Living website provides information on a wide range of support available including

  • Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods
  • Carer's Allowance
  • Debt Advice
  • Education Maintenance Allowance (£30pw for young people aged 16-25 from low income families who are continuing in further or higher education)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension Credit
  • Scottish Child Payment
  • Universal Credit

If you, or someone you know, is unable to access information online you can phone Fife Council's Community Support Line on 0800 952 0330 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Staff will be able to assist with support or set up an appointment for you to speak to someone.

Council Tax Support

If you are struggling to pay your Council Tax check if you are eligible for money off your bill.

The Council Tax Reduction scheme helps people on low incomes save an average of £750 a year on their Council Tax bill. Those eligible can also save up to 35% on their water and waste charges.

The Council Tax Reduction scheme assesses a households income, capital and circumstances so is open to all, including those not in receipt of benefit.
